Picture Plus Problems
The main problem encountered is caused by a different program installing an older version of the bwcc.dll file into the windows directory or windows\systems directory. To allow Picture Plus to install, we must first bury the old copy of this .dll so that the installation program can install the .dll version 2.04.
In Windows 3.11 (File Manager)
- Open the Windows directory (drive C or D on the computer)
- Under the FILE menu, select Search...
- Search for: bwcc.dll (make sure that there is an "x" in the box marked subdirectories) then click on OK.
- For each file listed, Select FILE: Properties...
- Any File found in the above listed directories that are version 1.0? should be deleted or change the name to bwcc.dl- so that the computer will not try to find it there.
In Windows 95
- Click on the START icon on the main menu bar.
- Under the FIND menu, select Files or Folders.
- Named: bwcc.dll
- Look in: windows or win95 (use browse to find.)
- Make sure that subfolders is checked. Click on Find Now.
- For each file listed, Select FILE: Properties...
- Any File found in the above listed directories that are version 1.0? should be deleted or change the name to bwcc.dl- so that the computer will not try to find it there.
Other Possible Problems:
- If during installation it gives a Mem\RAM error, you will need to create a directory for installing (We recommend C:/PIC-PLUS.)
- Video Card incompatibilities might also occur.
- Color incompatibilities can be solved by setting the colors on your computer lower (not millions of colors.)
