Have you ever needed to repair a section of damaged lace edging? If your lace is made on netting you can scan the original, digitize a new section, stitch it out and replace the damaged section. It will not necessarily be a perfect match but will be much closer than using a new yardage lace and much less expensive than having it done by a restorer.
Netting lace is the easiest lace we have ever worked on and also the most versatile. You can create everything from antique edging to ultramodern medallions. One of the nicest things about using netting as your lace foundation is the lighter look that can be achieved. Since you don't have to form the foundation with thread, your lace can have a much lighter look than lace made completely of embroidery thread. Also, it is much easier and faster to stitch. However, you are the designer of your own lace, so you get to decide just how light or heavy you want your stitching to be. Another plus to digitizing your own netting lace its the ability to digitize one design and then divide it into elements that can then be used to form more design elements.
